Raglan is awarded the International School Award
Posted ~ Wednesday 05 October 2011
The school was delighted to hear that its application for the full International School Award for 2011-2014 has been successful.
A portfolio of evidence had to be put together throughout the year, highlighting the various curricular and extra-curricular international work carried out in the school. This included projects such as Weather Around the World in Year 3, The Caribbean in Year 4, Rainforests in Year 5 and the Second World War in Year 6, as well as whole school enterprises such as the Canopy project we have been involved in with our link schools in Ghana and Zimbabwe.
The portfolio was judged by a panel from the British Council, who commented that there was evidence of a “good commitment to a whole school approach to the work” and an “excellent range of activities”.
Miss Bye will be attending an awards ceremony next Wednesday to collect the certificate, which will then be put on display in the reception area of the Junior School.
