French and Other Languages

Every child at Raglan has a weekly French lesson from our own full-time Languages teacher. Miss Bye is a secondary-qualified teacher of Modern Foreign Languages. Lively lessons which utilize full use of the interactive whiteboard in each classroom allow children to enjoy learning French and explore French culture.

Progression is measured and a large focus placed on the quality of spoken French.

French is taught from Y3 to Y6. We strongly believe in the importance of securing a grounding and ability in one foreign language throughout your child’s time at our school as opposed to the approach some schools take of introducing many languages.
